Simple Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed

  • 1/2 cup white or brown sugar

  • 1 egg

  • ¼ cup melted butter or neutral oil

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Optional Variations:

  • Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips, chopped walnuts or pecans for a crunchy texture.

  • Replace 1/2 cup flour with 1/2 cup rolled or quick oats for added fiber and a different texture.

  • Make muffins instead of a loaf, using lined muffin tin and reducing bake time.

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

2. Combine bananas, sugar, egg, and butter together in a bowl. Mix flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl; stir into banana mixture until  batter is just mixed. Do not overmix!

3. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.

4. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean, about 1 hour.

5. Remove from oven and cool on a rack for at least 20 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
